Lake Anne Plaza in Reston, Virginia, one of my favorite places ANYWHERE..

I grew up in Reston, going to the Plaza, walking around enjoying the bookstore and getting "special sour gum" at the pharmacy (which is still there although they don't sell the special sour gum anymore)

When my kids were born I would push them in their strollers along the lake and feed the ducks. We'd hit the used bookstore, get a drink from the coffee shop...now I have a listing there; a one bedroom condo that overlooks the plaza and has a view of the fountain. If I was single and had no children.....that would be my home. So, I'll make it someone else's home. The listing can be viewed on my website http://www.ellenmoyer.com/

I visited Lake Anne for the first time last weekend with my boyfriend.  He moved to Reston in 1971 and lived in a variety of apartments for many years.  He was the construction supervisor for the Colvin apartments and one other I can't remember.  He used to hang out with friends in the plaza, play guitar, have lunch, stroll and fish in the lake.

I just fell in love with the plaza at first sight, and still think about it.  Oh, if I had the money I'd live there, but he wants to move to Florida!  We dropped in to Lake Anne Flowers where he and the owner reunited after 25 years.  They were part of the same "gang" of young marrieds back in the 70 & 80ss.

I grew up in Alexandria, but never ventured out to Reston.  I remember the hoopla when it was built, though.  The whole Lake Anne area is just lovely.  I hope it stays that way!
