I AM ACTUALLY A DARN GOOD REALTOR, I THINK???

Good afternoon. What a day it has been. The powers that be at Active Rain chose my post from yesterday, "I am a Horrible Realtor"' as a featured post!! Wow. It was cool. I received more comments from that one post, then I have received from my first 34 posts combine. Thanks for sending the attention my way, Active Rain.

For those of you who were worried about me, I don't really think I am a horrible realtor. I also am very happy with my company, RE/MAX. And again, I love the business.

The point of yesterdays post was just to express the frustration that is so common in this business, especially for newer realtors.

Judging from the comments I received, most were very supportive and identified with some if not all of my pain. For those, I hope you found my post thereapeutic in a "misery loves company" sort of way. It was good for me. I hope it was for you too.:)

For those of you who thought I needed a more positive attitude, I actually feel I am a darn good realtor. Not everything I write or do may be the way you do it, but there is room for all types of real estate agents, don't you think.

Anyway, this business is exciting. This medium is exciting. So many people discovered and read my post, I didn't want to go to bed. I LOVE CHECKING MY STATISTICS!

My blog is about the life of a newer real estate agent, struggling to make it in a challenging market. After yesterday, I am feeling serious pressure to come out with some decent content. Oh well, I guess I should just keep typing, and see what comes out.

Ken:

I totally understood your "I'm a Horrible Realtor" post. Katt Williams is one of my favorite comedians. Through his humor, he shares a very true perspective. For example.....look at some of the television commercials. If you don't have rock hard abs or a SIZE ZERO body, you are a "loser". They don't use those words. But, some would interpret those commercials in that light.

Convert that message to real estate. Some would say/have said.....'If you aren't making money hand over fist in this market, you are a bad (or in your words) A HORRIBLE AGENT!' Those individuals entered the business to make a quick buck!

That's not necessarily true. Some of these agents might not have been coached/mentored on ways to prepare for situations like this market. That's not their fault and they shouldn't be made felt as less than a person because of their challenges.

After reading some of your posts, it was real easy to subscribe to your blog. Feel that pressure!!!! That's readers wanted more good stuff for you! Keep up the good work and fight the good fight!
