Spring Clean Your Home to Sell!

It's that time - Spring Cleaning!  However if you are listing your home for sale, you really need to focus on Spring Cleaning, no matter what time of year it is.  Here are a just a few tips to help you. 

1. Open all the blinds and curtains and let the sun in!  Clean the blinds and windows.  Using one part white vengar with eight parts water makes a great "green" window cleaner.  Use newspaper to wipe off to avoid streaks and to recycle!
2. Check for smells.  Clean out the refrigerator with baking soda and water to remove all odors.  Remember, if the frig stays, buyers will look inside.  Add lemon juice to the dishwasher to eliminate bad odors.  Again, the dishwasher stays as a permanent attachment, so buyers will open it! Put lemon rinds and ice cubes down your garbage disposal.  The ice cubes sharpens the blades and gets rid of extra "stuff" on the blades.  The lemon rind freshens the disposer. 
3. Keep the coils clean.  Pull out the frig and clean off the coils on the back to improve function.  While your at it, clean the furnace too.  use a vacuum or a rag tied to a yard stick to accomplish the tasks.
4. Wash walls.  Dust, grease and smoke accumulate on the walls too.  Using a general purpose cleaner mixed with water and a mop, start at the top of the wall and wash down.  Rinse the mop frequently.  You will be amazed how much better your home smells!
