Is it a good time to sell your home?  

The answer to this question is it depends on what your goals are in today's markeplace.  In areas I service property values shot up between 20% and 30% so a quick answer for me is if you wanted to sell your property a year ago and could not due to pricing, but you know have equity and have the  ability to do so, you probably should consider it strongly.  I do not know what the real estate market will do, but I do know it does not go straight up or straight down BUT it is easier to fall than to rise.  Look at your goals as a family and make your decisions based upon that.  Do not allow greed, but allow NEED to determine your destiny in selling!
