The Riverside neighborhood The Riverside Neighborhood Association (RNA) is one of the most community involved neighborhoods in the City of Everett. RNA offers a community garden, five parks, special events and activities, historic properties and views of the Cascade Mountain Range. Riverside is located northeast of downtown, at the intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 2. The neighborhood is bounded by 19th street on the north, the Snohomish River on the east, Pacific Avenue on the south, and Broadway Street on the west.
The community of Riverside grew from a disreputable dockside community into a solid working class neighborhood of immigrant mill workers. The homes that these mill workers built among the muddy streets were simple one to one and a half story cottages on small lots close to the mills. The early years in Riverside, though not historically exciting, were memorable. It was a working man's side of town, sprinkled with a little wealth of mill owners and executives on choice pieces of property.
