See previous post on this subject:  Forgiveness Facts

How to know if you are living (or existing) in unforgiveness?

Do you love to tell the story? Do you catch yourself singing the "he (she) done me wrong song"?

Are you secretly happy when others join in to sing your song? Does their agreement with you, or at least applauding you on your retaliation or how you have been wronged give you a feeling of worthiness? "Oh, you poor dear..."

' Do you find yourself looking for sympathy on what took place?

Deep down you have a feeling of being avenged and even honored, when negative things come upon their lives?

Do your look for areas of failure in them? Happy when you see it?

Do you imagine a time that they reap what they sowed in your life? When they "get theirs"?

Do you use them as an excuse of how you life is? It is "all their fault". Do you replace their accountability for yours?

Does a tape of "what if . . ." repeat over and over in your mind?

My Thoughts: The good news is I have cleared up the above issues.  I used to do a lot of these things. I read these questions and think about the people I know that do a lot of these things.  Perhaps you are one of them? Its good to evaluate yourself to see where you are at.  You can't find a solution if you don't know there is a problem.

If you are stuck in the above cycle ...I want you to know its much much better being in forgiveness and living in harmony as opposed to judgement and unforgiveness.

I think I'm pretty positive and do my best to even avoid those who think like that!  However, I do sometimes kick myself repeatedly saying, " What if..."  I think we all do that!  Thanks for the post!

Hi Chuck!

AMEN to that post!  There is no heavier baggage than carrying around "righteous anger."  I cannot tell you the lives I have seen wasted away because they were determined to hold on th the pain, the anger and all of the ugliness that goes with it.  They don't even realize that the offending party isn't affected by their anger...the injured party is, but, only because they allow themselves to be!

It's much better to live free of all of that ugly stuff!  To move forward and get on with the business of living!  It is, after all, a great life!

I think at the end of the day everything should stay on that day. Of course this is easier said than done!

Forgiveness is a marvelous act.  The greatest secret is that 'the forgiver' gets the biggest blessing.  We get to live our lives free of all that baggage.
