SUBURBAN WEST REALTORS ASSOCIATION wrote that our markets in Chester and Delaware Counties in Pennsylania are beginng to pick up after the tough winter.

A recent survey from Fannie Mae confirms that sellers are beginning to gain optimism in the market

According to Fannie Mae's April 2014 National Housing Survey results, the share of survey respondents who say it is a good time to sell a home climbed to 42% last month, compared to 30% at the same time last year.

Also 69% of respondents believe now is a good time to buy a home, a gradual increase since the beginning of the year.

Local market statistics are also beginning to show the results of improved consumer confidence in the market. Pending sales in April were significantly higher than March and much more in line with 2013's rate in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties than previous year-over-year comparisons during the first quarter of 2014.

I hope you are having a most productive spring.

Dolores and I enjoyed a visit to Longwood Gardens on Thursday. Then, Dolores and some of her friends went to the Brandywine River Museum and had tea at the Hotel du Pont on Friday.

It looks like now that winter is over in the Northeast, things have started to develop.  It will be interesting to see the stats for last month.
