Five Star Development Group Inc., has announced plans to build one of nine boutique hotels under a new brand called Edition here in Scottsdale. Other cities to house an Edition include Paris, Madrid, Costa Rica, Miami, Washington, Chicago, and two sites in Los Angeles. Developers expect to ultimately build one hundred hotels worldwide.
The Scottsdale site is planned to be on a 120 acres of desert just west of Scottsdale Road between Lincoln Boulevard and Indian Bend. The Scottsdale Edition will have 150 and another hotel, a Ritz-Carlton would be built in another area of the same 120 acre site. Plans also call for shops and high end residential condominiums.
