TaylorMade Golf hosts event at The Oconee Course

On Monday April 14, 2014, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose and Ted Bishop participated in a 15-inch-cup tournament hosted by TaylorMade Golf at Reynolds Plantation. This event represented the commitment of TaylorMade Golf to support Hack Golf in alliance with the PGA of America to make the sport of golf more accessible and fun for new players. Hack Golf is an open innovation initiative aimed at making golf more fun for everyone. During this event, Garcia scored a 30 playing nine holes with 15-inch cups installed in the greens while Rose scored a 33. This idea was experienced at Pauma Vally Country Club in Southern California where this idea produced faster rounds, lower scores and more fun. Many golfers saw a 10-stroke improvement in scores that incuded long putts and chip-ins from off the green. Over the next 2 weeks, 20 golf courses participating in this beta test will receive 15-inch-cup kits that include the hole, custom tee markers, flags and flagsticks. By the end of May, another 80 courses across the nation will be participating in this program. After the beta period, other courses will have the opportunity to purchase this 15-inch-cup kit. For more information about this 15-inch-cup program, visit www.hackgolf.org.
