Today will be the day I hit 1 MILLION POINTS here on Active Rain. It has been a rewarding journey and quite a learning experience. I get many comments and questions how to earn points, how to get them to add up quicker and what do the points mean.
Ac tive rain is just not about points. point are a way to measure yourself against other agents in your city, state and the nation. Points are a motivating factor to get one started. the points themselves will not make you friends or money, but the process to get them will.
The secret to success is that you should NEVER look at blogging as a chore. It needs to be something that you like, something that is done every day. You need patience, persistence and ideas. Many of my ideas to write about come from my listings, showings, inspections, appraisals and encounters I have in any given day.
I try to balance advice for Buyers and Sellers with market reports, short sales and REO sales. Add in a dose of local events and you have a good recipe to attract readers.
Although some blogs do provide instant emails or calls for consumers, some take longer. Some of my older blogs attract the most new clients.
Lastly an Active Rain blog allows you to interact with agents, loan officers, home stagers and other industry people not even locally but across the country. I have met agents in my back yard i never had met before. I have made friends from across the country. I have received some of the best inspiration and advice from you all. You know who you are.....
I have to admit the last month getting close to a million pushed my faith in AR after not being able to land on the feature page if it was the ocean and I fell out of a boat while floating in the middle it. AR will grow, make changes and some of us will give our opinion. We should not be punished for telling AR and it's members what is working and what is not.
I end every blog with my now infamous saying: One should know that All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest Agent or Company. It is important to Hire the BEST Agent. In NH that could be me.

Ask for a well experienced Listing Agent can give you the advantages you need when selling your home. Not all agents are created equal. Choose only the best.
It does not take magic to turn your "For Sale" sign into a "Sold" sign. it takes a full time Local Agent who specializes in Listing homes like yours.
