How to Keep Home Staging Costs Down

With anything, price is a big factor that affects our decision on whether or not we do something. This is always an issue when it comes to home staging. A lot times people automatically shoot down the idea of home staging because they think it will cost thousands and thousands of dollars. I have good news for you....that isn't necessarily true. Every situation is different and every home has different things that need to be done to help prepare it for sale. But this Montgomery County PA home stager has some tips on how to keep home staging costs down.

1) DIY Project Managing
After the home staging consultation, a home stager can be hired to make sure it all gets done in time for the house to hit the market. Obviously this costs their time which you pay for on top of the other things that need to be taken care of. You can keep home staging costs down by doing the work yourself. Instead of hiring your home stager as a project manager, make a list of all the things you need to accomplish and people you need to call so you can stay on top of what needs to be done. Sometimes this isn't always doable, depending on your schedule and the other things you have going on in life. But if cost is of concern, this is one way to help keep it under control.

2) DIY Staging
After your home staging consultation, doing the grunt work yourself is another way to keep home staging costs down. If there's painting to be done, DIY. If there's cleaning to be done, DIY. Furniture to be rearranged...well I think you get the picture. Just be sure to do the job well and follow your home stager's instructions. Your home stager can  give you cost effective ways on how to refresh your space. If you paid for the advice of a professional, it only makes sense to follow it to the letter.

3) Prioritizing
We can't always do it all. Home stagers understand you have a budget and you need to stick to it. So let's pick out the biggest offenders and get them fixed. You can save the little stuff for later when you see how your budget's fared with the whole process. How to Keep Home Staging Costs Down

Suzanne- these are great tips.  The more a seller can do themselves, then the costs can be kept down.  And yes, nothing is perfect, so pick what truly needs to be done.
