First, a little bit about my city--Newton Massachusetts.  Newton, with over 85,000 residents (2012 Census) is comprised of 13 villages and all with a different flavor. Being only 7 miles from the city of Boston and with top rated schools in the country and a very efficient transportation system, Newton is a top choice for people moving into or within the Greater Boston Area and is consistently ranked one of the best and safest cities to live in (Money Magazine 2012).

In the summer, Cold Spring hosts a popular Farmer's Market, offering locally grown foods, antiques, and artisan craftwork. It is open July through October this year, so be sure to check it out.

Off-Leash Dog Parks in Newton MA

       Uma

Our Wonderful Berner, Uma

One reason we love Newton is the great off-leash dog parks. We love bringing Uma, our Bernese Mountain Dog to the parks to see the sights, smell the scents, and play with other dogs. A $50.00 permit is required to take advantage of these areas, but it is totally worth it! Just make sure your furry friend's vaccinations are up-to-date.

To read about the off-leash program and see the off-leash area locations, visit the Newton Parks and Recreation Department website.
