The answer is both. Celebrating and spending time with our families is expected. Just make sure to take a moment, even if it is just a few minutes to pause and reflect on all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in all wars the United States has engaged in.
Because of our military we can spend this time enjoying our freedoms. Travel from State to State without "papers". Practice any religion we choose or choose not to. Speak out against our elected leaders both verbally and in print when we disagree with their positions on issues.
If you aren't attending any military ceremonies then consider flying the American flag as a sign of support. Or don't, It's your choice. Thank you to all who serve and have served!
