I have been wanting to do a newsletter for some time for my friends in the Lake Winnipesaukee area of New Hampshire... But we all know the drill.  In today's market who would want to pay for postage for another mailing when the internet is right at our fingertips?

I realize this isn't a new concept but I wanted to share how I did it for FREE!  There are many sites out there to help you create an e-Newsletter but from what I found, it costs you. When I started researching this the last thing I wanted to do as a newer agent was to add another expense to my budget, so I found a way to get creative.

At my personal websitewhich is a Point2Agent website, I created a hidden page.  I created a template that I will use monthly to update my SOI and past customers/clients on what is going on in the towns in our market.  My e-Newsletters gives specific information broken down by town, including listings that are new to the market in that month, as well as properties that have sold.

My monthly e-Newsletter will feature one home a month with a link that directs them to a property specific website (which of course all my personal listings will have).

I have also asked a Professional Interior Designer, and a Senior Loan Officer in my area to contribute a small article per month.  They were more than pleased to take part. I am sure this list will grow.

Included are all the links to all my ActiveRain posts for the previous month.  I did this by going to my blog.  In the right sidebar are all the posts that I have written categorized by month.  I click on the month and copy and paste the page into my e-newsletter.  This will lead them to my blog and hopefully gain some new readers.

I have only sent out one e-Newsletter so far and I do expect that it will improve and develop over time.  I just thought I would share with you a FREE way to keep in contact with people in a way that they both appreciate and find useful.  I have had some great feedback.  I sent an email to everyone linking them to my hidden page.  I capture ALL email addresses that I receive and add them to my e-newsletter distribution list.  The people who receive it, but would rather not, can unsubscribe whenever they choose.

Great job in utilizing the tools you have! I, too, have done newsletters...and placed them on my site on archive pages. May do so again, based on reflection.

CAR.org offers a free one to it's members and I have been using it for some time.  You can produce your own articles and some useful state news. Obviously not for your state, but maybe offered by your state board.

Marzena- It wasn't bad at all... I spent maybe a full day or tow to set it up and now I have the template that I will use every month so it will take a very short time to change the data... let me know if you want the link! Do you have a Point2 site?

I have p2 Standard.  Will I be able to do the same thing, or will I need to have the professional version.

Love the banner on your site!  Wendy

That is a very good idea. But why a "hidden" page?

Sounds like a great idea Kim.  I have been using e-newsletters for a few years now and have had a great response from them.

Wendy - I am not totally sure but I think you would be able to.  I know that you have a limited number of pages with a standard site so it depends on how many you are currently using.  Just create a new page. Thanks for the compliment on my banner. Good luck!

Charles - I don't want it showing up as a regular page when people visit my website.  I would rather distribute it and know who's looking at it.  I would also like people to contact me in order to view it!!

Wonderful idea to build upon a resource you already have. I love your Point 2 site - very well done. Did you have someone build the site for you or is this your labor of love?
