Working on Memorial Day Weekend?
Three day weekend in Washington DC! The weather is beautiful and there is plenty to do in the vibrant city.
There are activites on the National Mall, 5K runs and the big Memorial Day Parade on Constitution Avenue in Washington DC. It's fun to live in an area where so much is going on and I love taking advantage of the free museums downtown. But this Memorial Day Weekend,
Marshall and I are busy with home buyers.
The housing market in the Greater Washington area is competitive. In the District, we wrote a contract on a rowhouse, one of ten offers! It is the same story in Alexandria and Arlington Virginia, two popular cities across the Potomac River from Washington DC.
In Maryland, good homes for sale are on the market for a week, at most. Basically the farther a house is from DC and a Metro station, the longer it stays on the market.
The Housing Trend in Washington DC
Less driving and more walking! I like this trend and enjoy working with clients who want to take Metro or bike to work everyday. Since the Washington DC area is notorious for traffic congestion, it makes sense to not drive a car everywhere.
I love walking the Crescent Trail which runs from Georgetown to Silver Spring. The trail is on an abandoned stretch of the B&O Railroad. It is one of many trails people use for rollerblading, bike riding and walking. In fact, the housing trend reflects a quality of life. More of us want to walk to coffee shops restaurants and grocery stores.
In this hyper connected world, home buyers search for a personal connection with a community.
And that's where we can help. As Exclusive Buyer Agents with Buyers Edge in Bethesda Maryland, we work to evaluate properties and find the best home for you. Working this Memorial Day Weekend, we offer our expertise and advice to home buyers.
We want you to find a home and a personal connection with the Washington DC community.
