-have a name of a lawyer to process the transaction

-Alberta Real Estate Contracts

-Know your terms and conditions - you wish to have when selling your home

-proof the buyer can purchase your home - approval letter

-Keep in mind since you are not paying commission, buyers know this, it may be reflect offer price

-Decide who will hold the depoist with the offer...typically your lawyer

-Ensure you cover your bases if there are any defects in your home, or lack of permits

You can absolutely sell your own home.  The list of "need to knows" provided by you are prerequisites.  In addition, make sure you disclose to the potential buyers that you are a Realtor.

Yes you always have to disclose if you are a licensed Realtor® 

The blog was for general public -  

I would always use the MLS and a Realtor to sell my house...even my own home.
