Home sales dropped 4% in Salt Lake County the 1st Quarter of 2014, following declines in quarterly sales for Salt Lake, Weber, Utah and Davis. Total home sales were 4,687 for the 1st Quarter of 2014, down from 4,801 in the 1st Quarter of 2013.
Median home prices:
Utah County - $229,250 up 9.2%
Salt Lake County - $245,000 up 7.2%
Davis County – up 5.4%
Weber County – up 5.9%
Tooele County – up 7.2%counties
"Higher home prices have made home buying less affordable," said Angie Domichel Nelden, the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS® president.
"The real estate market has normalized,’’ said Jeremy Lowry, senior vice president for residential lending at Zions Bank. "What we really need to do now is build some more housing stock."
