Plano Texas is a great place to live! Just ask the residents of this North Texas city, some of the corporations that call this city home (or that are moving here soon), or even ask The Dallas Morning News. The Dallas Morning News ranked 11 features in Dallas, Collin, Denton and Rockwall counties, and parts of Tarrant County. Based on those results and data analysis by The News, Central Plano — largely between Preston Road and U.S. Highway 75 just south of State Highway 121 — is the best neighborhood in North Texas to call home.
Its low crime rates, ample housing, strong schools and pristine parks appealed to everyone from families to empty-nesters. Easy commutes to the many corporate campuses in Plano during the week and distinctive places like the mixed-use Legacy Town Center to visit on the weekends make Plano a great place to call home. With 81 parks and 70 miles of hard-surface trails, Plano offers plenty of places to get outside. Central Plano is also home to the Ridgeview Ranch golf course and Russell Creek Park featuring athletic complexes in addition to a small lake and hike-and-bike trails. The Russell Creek Greenbelt Trail links the park to other green spaces as well as Hoblitzelle Park. The two parks alone total nearly 400 acres in Central Plano (and there are more parks including Bob Woodruff Park that provide acres and acres of parks across Plano).
Other factors that propelled Central Plano into the winner’s circle include the strength of its schools as well as corporate growth. The Central Plano area is served by both the Plano and Frisco school districts (which are both highly acclaimed). The businesses help fuel the economy as well as provide jobs within a comfortable commute for Plano residents. Several of the city’s largest employers, including Bank of America, Capital One, J.C. Penney, Ericsson and Frito-Lay, have made their corporate homes on sprawling campuses on the west side of town. FedEx Office and Print Services has announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to the area, and Toyota just announced that it is coming, too. Along with other corporate relocations to North Texas, including State Farm's corporate offices just South of Plano in Richardson - the Plano area is currently a hot-spot for corporate development. Working close to where you live and where your children attend school frees up time to spend with your family and friends or out in the community.
Come see what the Plano lifestyle has in store for you.
