Community Thanks to the Carlsbad Firefighters and First Responders
The City of Carlsbad is hosting a big Thank You event, the Community Appreciation Day, to thank everyone who helped Carlsbad deal with the wildfires (the Poinsettia Fire) that spread through many acres of southern Carlsbad in the Aviara and La Costa area a little over a week ago.
The event will be held at the Carlsbad Safety Training Center this Saturday May 31, 2014 from 10 am until 2 pm.
All are welcome and residents are encouraged to bring photos, stories, drawings and notes for the Memory Wall. You can meet fire fighters, first responders and city staff, see the training center and fire fighting equipment, and learn more about preparing for the next emergency…something we should all do.
Also Ready Carlsbad is accepting cash donations to help fire victims. Other donations may be made to a number of local agencies.
