According to a recent article in the Arizona Republic, the Chandler, Arizona population is still growing. The latest information from the U.S. Census Bureau, as reported in the Arizona Republic, shows that Chandler is the fourth largest city in Arizona with a population nearing 250,000 people. This also makes Chandler the 73rd largest city in the country for 2013.
Chandler has slowed from the rapid growth rate in the 1990's, but did see a 5.5% increase in population from 2010 through 2013. That growth ranked Chandler 119th out of over 700 large cities and towns. See the chart below from ChandlerAZ.gov.
Chandler's neighboring Town of Gilbert saw an even more rapid growth in population, ranking it the 15th fastest growing in the country over the last three years. However, the largest growth rates in Arizona have been in the West Valley. Buckeye was ranked 9th, and Goodyear ranked 6th. Both Buckeye and Goodyear are not nearly as populated as Chandler and Gilbert, with around 55,000 and 70,000 respectively.
The continued growth in population in Arizona should help reduce the inventory of 1,000 homes currently for sale in Chandler. With home prices in Chandler also stabilizing, this may be a good time for people to start buying and/or investing in Chandler real estate. The fact that the population in Chandler is still growing should mean good news for the current Chandler real estate market.
