Growing up, I dont remember a time when my Mother didnt have a jigsaw puzzle on a table in our home. I always thought it was normal to have a dining room or kitchen table covered in tiny pieces of cardboard!
I can recall helping look for pieces of sky, or a cluster of trees , that looked like each other. We werent permitted to just try pieces either.... we had to look for pieces that two innies oposite each other with just a slight shading on the top,,,or a green with a touch of yellow on one side..It taught us to analyze, and look carefully...
This was a part of our evening routine. and learned to find the challenge enjoyable...
Later in life, she taught us about Word Searches, Crossword Puzzles, Anagrams, Cryptoquizzes..and as an adult, I started every morning solving the crossword puzzle before going off to work... Starting my day off wih an accomplishment and shaking the cobwebs from the brain...
Its not surprising my best friend at work played trivia with me every day..
Funny,,,, I am now a Realtor.. One profession that truely is all about the pieces of the puzzle...And remembering the details..
From finding the Customer , to helping them put their puzzle together.. finding the home ,the Lender, the Inspector, Handymen etc!
Yep, All about the puzzles..
My Mother would be proud!
