Hello world. How did I pass my day? After my normal morning, which consists of coffee, breakfast, reading the Chicago Tribune and spending time with my family (wife Nicole, daughter Erin), we packed up and drove to the YMCA in downtown Naperville.
It's a great place to workout. Never too crowded. I think it's about $75/month for my family. It doesn't have the most modern facility, but what it lacks in chicness (is that a word??), it makes up with a nice friendly neighborhood setting.
Anyway, Erin loves the daycare. It's free for her, has lots of toys, and as she says "Boys". Should I be worried that my daughter, who is not quite 2 years old, is talking about boys???
By the way, the YMCA will be a great networking place for me. I am showing houses this Saturday to a young family that I met at the daycare. I am doing what I can to spread the word.
After busting my butt on the treadmill and giving a rather feeble effort at lifting weights, I was ready to take on the real estate world.
Oh wait. First I had to attend to my lunch and watch my wife's favorite soap, "The Young and the Restless."
After Y and R, I went to one of my farm areas and hung my Spring Market Update on the 140 or so doors in the complex. Since I had already run, walking up the 5-8 stairs in front of each home continued the butt kicking on little old me.
Do I have a point? I don't know. I have never found real estate works as a 9-5 job for me. I know there are those of us who are sticklers for scheduling every last minute. That just doesn't sit well with me. I think the freedom and random schedule are a lot of what I enjoy about this wacky business. I know I don't do it for the big bucks. At least not yet.:)
This business takes time. I don't expect any immediate response from my efforts today. But over time, I know that if I continue to do the right activities, the business will come.
Sales is a marathon, not a sprint.
OK. Maybe I didn't have much of a point, so I will throw in a picture of Erin from last fall instead.
Thanks for reading,
Ken
