How a Sacramento REALTOR Can Get Rid of a PITA

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

I often refer to things that are distasteful and I wish would go away as a PITA, and I'm not talking about baking bread. The secret to living a happy and stress-less life, of course, is to get rid of stuff one would call a PITA -- unfortunately, the PITA generally comes with two legs and a set of lips, the latter of which are moving.

In Sacramento real estate, it can be hard to eliminate all PITA because so much of it comes with the territory. Some you don't choose, it can be an unintended consequence of the transaction like a mortgage loan officer who believes he can decide whether a buyer adheres to the purchase contract. But others are typically chosen purposely by the agent, whether the agent realizes it. You can read more in my personal blog today about The Difference Between a Challenge and a PITA for a Sacramento REALTOR®.

There are certainly times when we just have to say no.

Oh gosh, I'm a sucker for a sob story too- you can only help those that are willing to help themselves, however.

Love Conrad's comment above.  Yes, the PITA is an unfortunate part of the territory.  Though, that nagging little feeling in the back of the mind is very often the clue to back off.

Hi Tammy: My nature is to want to help everybody who calls.

Hi Mary: You make me laugh because we can be such suckers, can't we? A seller told me right after that episode that her painters can't get done in time for the open house, and I muttered oh, who cares? Just ask them not to bang around ladders when you're trying to sleep, LOL. She made me laugh so hard I had tears coming down my face.

Hi James: I think you talk a good game but I suspect your first inclination is to help as well. It's in our nature.

Hi Conrad: Well, then I've been whipped and pummeled and chained to the wall.

Hi Gabe: That little nagging feeling is our sub-conscience's way of saying hey, dummy, wake up and pay attention!

Hi Joan: 5 months? I could see that in a short sale.

Sacramento was lucky to have you willing to work with the challenges of short-sales after the housing bust of 2008, Elizabeth.  Personally, I don't mind a good challenge, but I've learned to select my battles, and avoid naming the hill I want to die on.

Myrl Jeffcoat Well, you're feeling nostalgic this morning, going back to a blog from 3 years ago! LOL. As you can see, that after the short sale run in Sacramento, my business exploded into the stratosphere, so there was a silver lining to all of that work. Plus, many of the sellers I helped from 2006 forward have rebounded.
