This is a list with good to know information!

  1. Understand The Threat - Understand that these are powerful storms and can do substantial damage.

  3. Leave In Time - Give yourself enough time to evacuate.  Remember everyone will be on the roads, plan ahead.

  4. Protect Your Home  - If you have hurricane shutters, know where they are and have them accessible before the storm.

  5. Organize Important Papers - Know where important documents are so you can grab Space Coast Area Homesthem and go!

  6. Inventory Valuables - If you have a complete inventory of your home, you will have an easier time of you ever have to file an insurance claim.

  7. Ensure Adequate Insurance - AFTER the storm in never a good time to realize you didn't have enough insurance!

  8. Make Provisions - Make sure you have the following on hand: Space Coast Area Homes
    Portable self-powered light sources
    Portable self-powered radio
Two-way radio or weather band radios
Tarps or other flexible waterproof sheeting
    Self-contained first-aid kit
Ground anchor systems or tie-down kits
    Gas or diesel fuel tanks
    Battery packages: AA-cell, C-cell, D-cell, 6-volt or 9-volt batteries
    Food storage coolers
    Portable generators
    Ice

  9. Know Safety Protocols - This is especially important for children.  They need to know what do do in case they are separated from you.

  10. Provide for Your Pets - Think about all the animals after Katrina that never found their way back to their families.  Fur babies will only know fear, it is our job to protect them.

Remember being prepared is the best thing you can do for your family during hurricane season!
