Are Your Emails Inbox-Worthy?

Services for Real Estate Pros with RISMedia

On my to-do list this week is updating my email signature (to include my blog here, among other things) – I can’t help thinking that now’s as good a time as ever to refresh my image via email. To do that, I turned to social media coach extraordinaire (and the voice behind BHG Real Estate), Rebekah Radice.

There are other reasons beyond mine to spruce up your email marketing. Maybe you’ve noticed a drop in your subscribers. Or you’re finding your subject lines are code for “delete”. How can you make your emails worth opening – and more importantly, worth someone’s time?

If you don’t know where to start (or if you’re not sure you even need an e-overhaul), Rebekah suggests exploring these questions:

Have you added all of your contact info, including social networks? (Check.)
Are your emails personalized with the recipient’s name? (Check.)
Does the design match your personal brand look, feel and overall style? (Check.)
Are your emails permission-based? (Check?)

Looks like I've got a little more to add to my to-do list!

My emails aren't personalized with the recipient's name - I'm behind the curve!

Good morning Suzanne. Great topic, as our email signature is how people see us and an if we don't do a good job showing off who we are and what we do, we are just missing out.

I need to beef up my email signature. I wanted to put my logo in there, but I'm afraid the image won't show up with others email programs. I see that sometimes.

Sarah and Lester – You’re welcome! It may seem small or trivial, but it’s a really crucial component to your overall branding strategy.

Lottie – I wouldn’t say you’re behind! We’re all a work in progress here. Thanks for your comment. :)

Rob – So important! And including all of your contact info, logos, etc. projects a much more professional image than the generic signature stamp. Thanks for reading!

C Team – Thanks! There’s always room for improvement… but I think I’m finally satisfied with how my signature looks.

Joe – Amen! Oftentimes email is the only way we represent ourselves prior to meeting, so best to make it look as polished and professional as possible. Have a great weekend!

Suzanne – You’re so right. I can access my email via Outlook or Gmail, depending on which computer I’m using, and sometimes things show up on one and not the other. Thanks for your comment!
