Sometimes, when I am bored, I scroll through the search engines -Google, Yahoo, and MSN - searching for my website. (If anyone knows of a more efficient way to find a web site's ranking, I would be eternally grateful for the information!)
Anyway, today, I listed a property and posted the listing to Active Rain. Then, while O'Reilly was on, I started to scroll through Google to find my website MYRTLE BEACH PROPERTYS. Imagine my surprise when I found my most recent blog on page 29, and it stated that it was posted 17 minutes ago. Wow. I didn't realize it was that immediate since every one has told me it takes months to get noticed by Google. Of course, it is because of Active Rain's ranking that it appeared. I just love this site.
I continued to scroll down to the number one site and again I found one of my blogs from Active Rain on page 18. Anyone who is not a believer should take note - this is truly amazing.
As to my web site, it had been on page 1 and page 2 of Google for a few months. Then I read a blog suggesting that my 'vanity' domain name was not as effective as a name using words in the title tags. So I changed the name of my site to www.myrtlebeachpropertys.com. It took me weeks to find it and today I found it on page 79. The good news is that it was on page 81 a few days ago. I am making progress.
