interesting, referrals will always provide a bit of insulation in a bad market

You guys are so right, my team and I are asking for referrals every time we talk to someone and it is paying off we are getting more and more names to talk to

Hello Ross thanks for taking time to stop by and share your thoughts...It's very easy to ask current or recent past clients the question the way we phrase it. In this case the properties closed in less than 3 months from each other! try it :)

Wow look at you guys with this blog. It's the mac daddy of blogging. I think it's always important to ask for a referral I think often times we forget which means we are leaving money on the table.

I don't know how to ask for a referral without sounding pushy. Any ideas?

The #1 source of new business comes from asking for it Vanna... most current clients will answer this question with a name.....

And we always ask - Who is Next among your family, friends & co-workers, considering a change of address?

Even if they can't think of anyone right at that moment - it plants a reminder seed that our business is based on referrals of satisfied clients sphere of influence,,,,and so when they do run across someone talking about moving soon - they call us with the lead later :)
