No Trespassing-Heck- I go into homes of people I don’t know for a living.  I'm a New Hampshire White Mountain area Realtor !

           Glacial Park, Thornton New Hampshire.

You’ll know you are on the right trail when you discover the remains of a cabin that marked the entrance to the park. The cabin most likely served as a place to for ticket purchases and souvenir sales. If it weren't for the stone construction of the fireplace, there would have been no signs of its existence.

Glacial Park was a long forgotten tourist attraction that was located in Thornton. In the early 1900's it was know as 'Mill Brook Cascade' and was a popular stop for tourist. It had been developed into commercial site called 'Glacial Park' by the thirties. The park itself seemed to encompass a large tract of land near the falls. The park also had bungalows at the entrance of the park that was available for guest to rent. Finding any facts concerning the parks history proved to be difficult.  There are few very old postcards and a brochure from the park if you search enough.

The location of the former park was in a secluded area northeast on Mill Brook Rd. The land might be private property and local residents may not appreciate strangers lurking in their back yards the “parking area” is not well defined and there is no signage to direct you to the falls.

But if you are seeking waterfall photos…as this full time Realtor and part-time photographer always is…this is a great place to visit. As always the rules are carry in/ carry out leave nothing behind…and be kind and pick up more than you brought. The White Mountains of New Hampshire appreciates visitors who leave with something more than they came with (especially good memories).

I'm happy to help you find that hidden gem... Your White Mountain New Hampshire -Realtor.

Steve Loynd.

As you can see by the scale of the person in the foreground this is a pretty good size waterfall...not the biggest, but one of the most hidden that I have found.

Steve, I didn't think I'd be disappointed stopping by to check out the photos you posted of Glacial Park, Thornton NH.  Glad I looked at the falls in greater detail because I missed the young lady in them the first go around.

would love to go and see the falls. I use to stay there when I was young. I have a banner from the park with the weeping elephant, tried to find it but could not find a place to park our car. Any way to meeting and see. Thanks
