San Diego Tall Ship

Active Rain Photo Blogger is an ActiveRain group that provides a great place for our amateur photographers to share their photos with a brief story of what the photo portends as well as a story of how it came about.

The photo above is one of my favorites taken on the San Diego Bay during our annual Tall Ship Parade that takes place in September each year.

This past year, San Diego showed off our brand new tall ship, the replica of the San Salvador that was build by hand over the last 5 years using the same techniques that the shipbuilders of old used to construct the ships long ago. That ship is now complete with all of the interior fittings and it's tall mast sections added that was not complete on it's maiden appearance at the Parade and Tall Ship Festival. I will be bringing you those photos this September 2016.

Are there benefits to showings local and area event photos useful? I think yes. One of the things I love about real estate is that it is not just about listing and selling. It is about relationships. Those relationships are the very foundation of my business and I think if it were not for those incredible relationships, I would be in the wrong industry.

So why do I bring that up while talking about photography? Because it is so interrelated. Photos of your area, the events, the concerts, the town gatherings for whatever reason, shares real life in what you have captured and when you share it, others can connect. Being the author of the photo story puts you into the center of your clients and future clients lives. There can be nothing better. When I am talking with clients and past clients ( new friendships),  I still share all these events and when new events or things of interest are upcoming, a simple e-mail, text or phone call to them to remind them, keeps your relationship alive and well.

Try it, if my experience is any example, your relationships will grow ever stronger and your pride in your community shows so brightly and says so much about what you do for a living. Your real estate career can thrive and your past client list will continue to grow. If you are like me, your past clients are your future.

There you go again, William!  I've had a couple of "free" days, when pirates weren't invading my mind, and then you go and post that picture!  I swear you did it on purpose!

Hi Belinda Spillman , thank you so  and all of us always enjoy your photo posts.

Hi Dorie Dillard , You are way to kind. Thank you so much for your kind words and also that we are always on the same page when it come to professionalism.  I would take a strong relationship over any amount of technology. BTW, you ever watch Million Dollar Listing. it is on Bravo, I think. It sure is entertaining but these guys come dangerously close sometimes to crossing the line ( IMHO)

Hi Sharon Lee , Thank you so much. Our water changes color depending on the light and the sky. It is especially blue on the San Diego Bay when I take photos of it.

Hi Lise Howe , You live in an area that is very close to areas that have many ships to see. If I ever get rich I want my summer home in Newport RI

Hi Sheila Anderson , Thank you so much. These vessels are magnificent to see with all their sails raised. They look majestic

Hi Patricia Kennedy - Thank You, I love these tall ships and that hill is in Point Loma. The ship photo was taken on the San Diego Bay side of Point Loma during the Tall Ship Parade in September of each year.

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat - I swear I didn't. I know I have to be careful around you, I know how these old pirate ships can stir your blood, LMAO.

Hi Gary Woltal - Thank you Gary. So nice to hear from you. Hope you are doing well my friend. I will get over to your blog soon.

Hi Hannah Williams - yes I think it does. At least I am trying. There is a long story about this that I will share with you one day. I don't want to write it as a blog. The skinny is that I read a post by someone I have a lot of respect for and it made me just want to back away for a while. The post was not directed to me but I felt the repercussions of the intent anyway. It had to do with this " this site is for real estate professionals and people that post pictures all the time instead of featuring listings and  market reports, should rethink why they are here" That was the basics of it paraphrased of course because I can't remember the whole thing.

Hi Dick Greenberg , That would be great. I will try to get to the group site each night and select the best posts of the day( or days if slow) for feature.
