Earlier this month, members of the local Crescent City/Del Norte business community attended the an annual event that would bring the community together and lead us into the future.  The event was the Crescent City/Del Norte County Chamber of Commerce Economic Summit. Speakers from various sectors of the local business community and members of the Crescent City/Del Norte County Chamber of Commerce spoke about the positive progress of the local economy and what we as a community are doing and need to be doing to further Del Norte' s economy into the future. 

Statistics were also presented and a surprise is that contrary to what locals believed, there are more community members between the ages of 25-35 than there are those that are retired, ages 65-74.  Therefore, a majority of the children who grow up in Del Norte county stay and work here instead of leaving.  This is great because it means that the young are staying and working in the area and are able to provide services that help take care of the elderly in the community and ensures that our community here is Del Norte county survives into the future.
