Sharks Mating South Of Caladesi Island - Clearwater Beach Florida

We were south of Caladesi Island in the Clearwater Beach Florida intercoastal waterway when we saw sharks mating! At first we had no idea what was going on. The water was bubbling and I was waiting for some enormous monster to come up. Actually, I thought it was a shark eating a sea turtle.

Bringing the boat a little closer, we saw fins smacking the water and we still could not be sure what was going on. I took photo after photo when Ron suggested I change to video.

The problem was, once I did that, I did not look through the phone's screen anymore to make sure I was video taping the right thing - it was too intense.

We saw two beige colored sharks hit the surface and the water bubbling all around them. They were in about 3 feet of water. It was really amazing and we brought the boat a little closer.

I think we finally got so close that our motor caused them to move - or the mating process was over. Anyway, we got to see two sharks, about 8 feet long, mating.

It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen!!!! Last week it was a dolphin that came to the boat for food and to be friendly. This week it was sharks mating. There is always something going on in the waters off Clearwater Beach Florida.
