Throwback Thursdays- Sharing Pictures of My Cousin Ron and I with his Pet Rooster
My cousin Ron says this was taken at their old ranch house where he lived with his mother in Lancaster, CA before he started kindergarten. My cousin would have been about 4 years old, and I was maybe 3 years old. Looking at our coats and hats, it was probably winter. Looks like I had a stuffed lamb sitting there...but do not remember it.
The second picture was taken the same afternoon. Ron was holding his big red rooster that they kept as a pet. He said the only chicken name he knew at that age was "Henny Penny," so that was what we called it, although it was a ROOSTER. His mom told him that the rooster used to walk right up under her bedroom window every morning, and wake her up with its crowing…so she didn't need an alarm clock.
* I remember my Aunt Bea; she was so cute and had the cutest Southern Accent (TN). I loved her and have good memories.
Here is a picture of my Dad painting a fence slat? And here is Ron with his mom, my Aunt Bea. We were in our backyard on Roslyn Street in Riverside. Looks like I was scowling at the camera. FUNNY!
