Inflation Falls and Stocks Rise

After yesterday''s sell off, stocks managed moderate gains today while bonds almost held their places.  S&P futures opened pretty much flat this morning.  While oil prices pushed ever higher in reaction to the trouble in Iraq and Syria, the producer price index actually turned downward.  This was a welcome event less than a week after a Fed speaker was bracing us for inflation.  The Dow closed up 41 points on the day.
