Merchandise Well Display Sells

Hello From The Northland,

The best you car ever looked is the day you bought it and the day you decide to sell. Once you buy your car you drive it all over town, fill the ash tray with wrappers, clutter the trunk with stuff, you find items in the front seats, back seats and under the seats.

This is no different when you buy your home and sell your home.  In our market today you need to stand out from the competition in order to get your home sold.  Go through  the closets, apply a fresh coat of paint, visit your local church and goodwill and get rid of items you are not going to move.  The bottom line is you want your home to shine, yes it does mean living a different lifestyle while you have your home on the market.  You have one opportunity when a buyer comes through your home today.

Back to the car scenario, when you drive by the same car on the corner for 6+ months, what does that tell you?

Have a great day.

Hi Kevin, Great point and blog. I have yet to go by a car lot where the cars are dirty and full of coats, backpacks etc! You have given the reason for presenting a product in the best condition!

Welcome to AR and look forward to more blogs from you. Thanks, Leslie

Great points Kevin and presenting a home "buyer ready" first time out (and the first two weeks) is key.

Welcome to the rain and it's great that you're getting to know Kathleen Lordbock, she's an expert in the field of home staging!

I love your car scenario, Kevin, especially the part about driving by it for six months like so many unprepared (read Unstaged) houses!  Welcome to the rain.  Feel free to keep blogging and splashing around.

Hello Patricia,

Thank you for commenting on Merchandise Well Displayed Sells.  I work with many sellers and can not stress enough the importance of getting a home in show room condition.  Have a great day.
