Renting Vs Buying Real Estate | Other Twist On The Home Ownership Tale

By
Real Estate Agent with MOOERS REALTY ME Broker License 106759

You like your job, where you live and want to put down permanent roots buying not renting a Maine home.

To become part of the community. Paying property taxes and voting on how they are spent. Volunteering in the local area events and feeling more involved in the direction your home town is heading.houlton maine small town photo

But renting vs owning, the do or don't of either often is not a Maine real estate personal choice.

If a buyer of a Maine home or other real estate listing has lousy credit.

Black and blue debt ratios. It's pull over there. Like Mickey Dees, Sonic, BK.

Gotta wait for your Maine home order to be filled. And buying is just not in the cards. For awhile.

While the credit score heals, is nursed back to health. So repairing the overall credit improves the chances to leave the rent rut. To buy not just rent a Maine home, apartment unit. If a family member can not step in. Help fill the shoes. Be the shadow, the co-borrower or sole mortgagee to make home ownership happen.

Owner financing Maine land happens a lot. If not a cash outright purchase due to the low price tags maine wild lupines photohanging on the property listings in Maine.

Another neat option is pay as you go. If the buyer of Maine land that has a well and septic on it.

Or is hooked to public water in a small Maine town without lots of regulations.

Not above and beyond strangling zoning codes.

The pay as you go, get the shell up and there, landed, under a weather tight roof.

Avoiding rent monthly cash outlay. Instead pouring it slowly into the place that takes shape a board at a time. Lots of time to think about a proper kitchen, what kind of flooring, to cover the stapled in wall

insulation.

Maine is 91 percent wooded and heating with your maple, ash, beech, birch, etc is one easy, low cost option.

Something for back up heat to keep the pipes from winter freeze up while away. If the DYI building home owner, not renter has to head down the pike for an out of town adventure.

Sometimes starting out in a low cost you could give it away in a few years mobile home makes sense.

Again to avoid the nothing to show for it rent receipts cash in the trash. Flushed down the drain over time.

Get off that put quarters in rental merry go round. Home ownership in Maine, here to help make it happen. To discuss the options that fit best to own, build equity and not just rent Maine real estate.

A great post with a good scoop of ice cream (Ben and Jerry's?) too!

I have a friend who had lots of property in Maine and she had property in FL too. She rented out her properties in ME and FL and retired on tenant's rent! She lived a very good life off of other people's money! Prospective tenants would be wise to listen to you Andrew!!!
