What is the Recipe for a GREAT Real Estate Agent?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Godzyk Real Estate Services NH License 033394

It is challenge time again and Active Rain is asking what event in our lives led us to where we are today? I spend many days over the last week writing this and re-rewriting this entry. There just does not seem to be one just one event. I believe every event, every listing, every sale and every client is a building block to how i got to where I am and who I am today.

I started with a college Real Estate course when I entered college at the age of 17. I began my Real Estate career at the age of 18. That was in 1985. This will be my 29th year in the business. I have seen changes some people could never imagine. The number 1 thing that led to my access was the ability to learn and the willingness to change as needed. I have some great stories from over the years. I wrote about them often and use each one as a learning and teaching experience. Below I have included the a few of the lessons that touched and molded me.

You can search for Manchester area Homes For Sale by clicking here. what is for sale by clicking here.

1. The ability to listen while knowing when to speak and when to be silent.

2. The drive to offer the highest level of service to all my clients. I feel each Buyer and Seller should be assisted through each step of the Buying and Selling process.

3. The largest factor is the ability to change. In the last 29 years i have been through 3 recessions. It requires an agent to change and adapt quickly to not just get by, but to succeed. Early in the 1990's during the first recession I can not, the feds came in and seemingly closed every local bank small and large. It was all the way back then I started listing, managing and selling bank owned homes. Even in REO I kept my standards higher than anyone by doing my tasks correctly and promptly which pleased many asset managers. Each and every recession after I had heads up and many contacts eager to work with me.

4. SEND THEM HOME HAPPY is a motto I learned quickly. By providing great service, by finding buyers their dream homes, by selling homes for home owners quickly and at the best price obtainable... I build clients for life who told their friends, relatives and co-workers who still call on me to this day...

The KEY TO SUCCESS is a Buyer or Sellers choice in Agents. I have put together a simple recipe for both Home buyers.

THE TOP TIPS TO FIND A "GREAT" REAL ESTATE AGENT

 1. LEARN THIS ONE FACT: One should know that All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest Agent or Company. It is important to Hire the BEST Agent. In NH that could be me.

2. CHOOSE THE RIGHT AGENT: As a Buyer OR Seller in this market you need every advantage you can to get your home sold. It starts with choosing the right agent. a. Ask for a Full time agent whose sole job is to sell homes. b. Ask for a Full service agent who will guide you through each step of the selling process. Discount brokers often equal discount services. c. Ask for a Local agent who knows your neighborhood and is readily available when you need them is a must. Out of town agents can leave you high and dry in your time of need. d. Ask for a well experienced Listing Agent can give you the advantages you need when selling your home. Not all agents are created equal. Choose only the best.

 3. HOME BUYERS SHOULD START BY:  Getting a FREE PRE-QUALIFICATION with a local and trusted lender. They will look at your credit and financial picture and let you know what type of mortgage you may qualify for and what your interest rate and monthly payment may be.

4. HOME SELLERS SHOULD START BYGetting a FREE MARKET ANALYSIS. Learn what your property is worth in today's market along with how ling it may take to sell. If you are ready to sell now, learn what you should ask for it. How much offers may come in at and what the approximate selling price should be. NH Home owners should contact me now.

IN SUMMARY the key to having a successful purchase or sale can increase simply choosing a better agent. The secret is that All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest. I leave you with now infamous philosophy, which is simple, to provide more personal and professional service to guide my clients through each step of the buying or selling process.

It does not take magic to turn your "For Sale" sign into a "Sold" sign. it takes a full time Local Agent who specializes in Listing homes like yours.

Congrats on 29 years, I to have been in real estate for 25+ years and I agree that so many times you need to learn to adapt.  Also, I agree that many times the best agents are not part of the biggest office.  I run a smaller office and find that it allows me to have a lot of one-on-one contact with my clients.  Thanks for sharing.
