Will "Top Contributors" REPLACE the Leaderboard? What about Community?
Changes are evident whether we agree or not. Top Contributors are all over the internet.
It's a shame to see quantity win in this case though.
Top notch doesn't always equal to Top Contributor, especially in the State of North Carolina.
It's extremely hard to see someone who writes poorly is higher on the "Board" than Debe Maxwell and Craig Rutman ....
You have seen the Pop Up on your home page. "Top Contributors Announced!" You are taken to a brand spanking new page, where the quantity of blogs posted over the past 12 months determines who gets to the top.
Top Contributors can also get a Badge to post their website. The Badge has a backlink to your ActiveRain Blog Page.
Compare the Top Contributors pages to the ActiveRain Leaderboard, where points from commenting, points from reblogs, points from contest, points from referrals, and other Community Involvement determine who makes it to the top of the page.
The question:
Is Trulia going to phase out or abolish the Leaderboard, in order to encourage MORE blog posts from the Users?
Will a larger number of Blogs be better for Trulia's SEO? More blogs means more links, more keywords, and more relevant search results, which are all good for SEO.
When a Big Corporation like Trulia buys out another company, like Market Leader, they already know what they intend to do with that company and its subsidiary companies. Are the ActiveRain Website, and the ActiveRain Community, about to undergo some monumental changes?
