Are You Tired Of Looking At Homes For Sale?

A common mistake that many home buyers in Nanaimo make is trying to look at every single home that's on the market.

OK, I'm exaggerating a little bit, but you get the point.  When you're buying a home it's understandable that you want to see as much as possible, because that perfect home could be just around the corner or at the next open house that you visit.

buy a houseThe longer you take to make a buying decision the greater the chance is that another buyer is going to grab the home that you eventually decide is perfect for you, and you'll have to start your house hunting search all over again.

More often than not the reason buyers look at so many homes is because they're not exactly sure what they want in the first place.

The first step in your home search should be to meet with your lender and decide not just how much you can afford, but how much you are comfortable paying.  Often times these are two totally different amounts.

Once you've figured out how much you're comfortable paying for your new home, the next step is to determine the general area and neighborhoods you would like to live in.  Is a water view more important than closeness to schools, or maybe a shorter commute time to work is more important than how close you are to shopping and restaurants.

Always remember that if you love the house you just looked at, chances are that another buyer looked at it earlier in the day and also fell in love with your new house.

You'll find that by having a specific price point and neighborhoods in mind you'll end up looking at the exact homes that fit your needs and won't lose out to somebody else buying the home that you want.
