pngSince many people are taking the FSBO route and condos and coops for people with pets are a rare commodity, I am hoping to bring the FSBO sellers who own a  pet-friendly condo or coop will consider putting a version of their FSBO listing on this site.   Inventory on such listings is generally small, and it is my hope that such an arrangement will help increase the options for buyers and create a centralized location for such listings.  

Right now, this is a work in progress and if it takes off, I will set up an independent site for these listings.  I get a fairly steady stream of potential buyers to this site so the extra exposure would be a plus for sellers who have a pet-friendly situation.  At the moment I am emphasizing locations in lower and middle Westchester. White Plains, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Hartsdale, Scarsdale, Mamaroneck, Larchmont, the river towns including Irvington, Tarrytown, and Sleepy Hollow.

This is a neat idea - I was thinking about doing something like this for FSBO's too (though not centered around pets.)

I'll see how it goes.  The idea is to help FSBO's market their properties and if the FSBO doesn't work, I can possibly get the listing.  The other issue is that there are so few units available for people with pets - that I'm trying to increase the options for my buyers. Inventories are low because people are holding off listing their properties.   Sometimes I only have one or two things to show someone who has a dog.  In spite of my best efforts, many get discouraged and disappear - for good. I keep telling them that persistence is key, that the listings appear in drips and drabs - but often it doesn't work.  So, this could bolster the inventory because an awful lot of people are trying to FSBO. 

In truth, most don't know what they are in for trying to do it themselves.....I think they feel we just slap it on the MLS  - hold an open house or two and let it sit until "something happens." Nope - far more complex than that!
