Which came first?  The Active Rain or the Kinetic Blog?

Good Question, I joined active rain, probably going on a year now.  I have written in excess of 150 posts and have had my share of comments.  I have given comments, feedback and have also established one heck of a referral network on active rain with you all.  It has been a fantastic place to meet people and learn about what we all love so much, Real Estate.

About three months ago, after running a lot of "free" blogs and even some that cost mullah to become a member of, I was looking around the WWW and came upon a Kinetic Blog Platform.

I called and spoke with Chris Frerecks, who explained that what he had was something that had not been tested, where he could comparatively show me, that in comparison with the other products that were out there, thereby proving, without a doubt that his was superior.  (I am sure an English Major would eat me up alive for that sentence, but you get the gist!)

I could not believe my ears, I was speaking with a "vendor" to be sure, he is telling me basically that his product is "nevou" - However, there is no established baseline from which he can draw a performance conclusion and establish projected "traffic"?

Everyone else I called told me that they had the best product and did everything to slam their competition.  But, if I heard Chris correctly, and I did, this was something that was different.

I thought about it for over two weeks.  Doing my research, reading the "dummies" books about rss feeds, syndication, and blogging for dummies.  I called him back and had him throw the switch.  He put me in touch with a Kristen Veraldi.

I called and after 3 hours over the phone, I am not sure if that is typical, but "college" I ain't.  But I am a good follower of directions and I am not afraid of sweat, I was primed and ready to apply the knowledge.  I had a severe crash on August 12, 1995 on my police motorcycle on the 110 freeway.  The doctor told me that it was a wonder I survived.  I slid on the asphalt on a 105 degree day on my chest hitting that surface at 75 miles per hour.  The doctor explained that if I had not been wearing my ballistic vest, that I would have had needed to have my nipples reconstructed again, because it ground 1/4" of Kevlar down.  Gotta love asphalt, kind of like sandpaper.

The point of that story is that my short term memory is a bit in need of repair, so I write a lot down.  So, having filled 1/2 of a yellow tablet with notes from Kristen, I was on my way.

The customer service and response to my every inquiry and updates of my ultra famous widgets, is without comparison.  It is handled efficiently and without much of a pause.

The explanations are to the point and on a level that I can understand.  Furthermore they have not given me any "break", "law-enforcement discount", or " anything because I am writing this post or some of the other positive comments I have made about their product and their character in the past.  I am not under duress and doing this of my own free will.  "When we would see a person that looked very uncomfortable when we were out driving around, we would ask, "are you here of your own free will".  Usually those uncomfortable looks were first date jitters.  But it was fun to ask."

I am here to say that I would never accept anything in return either.  I never am one to owe anyone else.  I always hated that as a cop and don't like that now.  I cannot be honest with my clients or myself if I am reluctant in telling someone that they are doing someone wrong because of something they did for me or because of something they "gave me".

This is how I think, if I can help someone that is helping me that I am for that.  I am looking at the "good" and nothing more.  I know God loves those that play it forward.  Because that is kind of like his Character.  So Play it forward all the live long day I do.  I went from a few indexed pages to the following, call them where this link takes you and judge for yourself:

Hey Connor,

As always thanks tons for the kudos.  We appreciate you just as much as you love your blogs!  And folks, while Connor loves his widget bling (it hasn't killed him yet :), he is a great blog writer and just an all around good egg so keep an eye on him!  I've never known anyone that isn't looking for something in return to be so giving.  Connor, these folks probably won't believe we're not paying you, but THANK YOU so very much for being you!

Best,

Kristen
