Not too long ago, we sold a condo for a client who had moved out of the area. As deals go, it was pretty small, but at the same time, it had some major problems. In addition to difficult inspection items, we discovered that the unit was restricted to low-income buyers, and that in fact, the current tenant our client had leased to should not have been there at all.
We were able to get everything resolved for the client, and after the closing, we received a very nice letter thanking us for our efforts. One thing that she said let us know that we had provided the exact kind of client service that is our goal:
"You made me feel like I was important. I never felt like I just had a cheap condo to sell - it was more like it was a million dollar home."
What we have always tried to offer our clients is a total commitment to helping them achieve their goals, from our first encounter to way beyond closing. We start with availability - we're always accessible to our clients when they need us, even in the wee hours. We're never afraid to offer our advice, but we're always careful to focus that on their needs. And we'll make the effort necessary to ensure that everything that's going on is clearly understood.
For our sellers, our marketing - no matter how big or small the transaction - is the best we can do. We'll stage a $75K condo as nicely as a $1M home. If needed, we'll make sure the grass is mowed and the home clean and show ready - every time.
For our buyers, accommodating their timing for showings is a given (thankfully, there are two of us), and we do whatever we can to make the home buying process as transparent and painless as possible. We have people - from lenders and inspectors to a wide range of contractors who have all promised to treat our clients with special care and good pricing. And after the transaction, we'll follow up on any loose ends and check in to make sure everything is going well.
Our goal is always to make being a client of Mary & Dick a VIP Red Carpet experience, and it's our best shot at differentiating ourselves from our competition, keeping our client base loyal, and getting referral business.
