Hello to all of my fellow active rainers, this is a very exciting post that I am putting up.  No, not exciting in that it's some great piece of new information that's going to make you a bazillion dollars, but this is my first post where my tired overworked hands do not have to tip tap type away at the keyboard to write this post.

Several months ago, I bought Dragon NaturallySpeaking software in the hope that I would be able to write more effectively, more quickly and be able to get my thoughts out on paper and move on to my next topics long after my fingers have finally caught up.  If any of you are slow typers and I am by no means a type crawler, then you know the frustration of losing thoughts as you hurry to finish typing the last sentence.  Well, with this new software I am writing this blog post in mere seconds as opposed to long minutes.

The software was a bit pricey and I am still teaching it to recognize my voice, but for the most part, considering how many times I have to go back and correct my misspelled words, I would have to say all in all I am extremely pleased with how fast I can put my thoughts down on paper.

I'm a fast typist, so I guess this isn't a problem for me. But I have one question. Do the slow "diapers" need to be potty trained? *hee hee*

Thanks Lisa, I saw that, and was going to correct it...and forgot!  I guess this software won't help my memory!

Interesting technology. I did catch the "diapers" problem, but considering your time savings, it might be worth looking into.

Wow thats pretty neat i was thinnking of buying a digital voice recorder and then just listenting and typing.  Sometimes i just feel like im on a roll and then all of a sudden forget what i was going to say.

Let's just put it this way in the time it takes me to start writing this response and the time I am finished will have only been 15 seconds.

Has there been much of a learning curve? I was wondering if the voice recognition has been much of a hassle. I like the idea, but I keep hearing that the software is not up to speed yet. You seem to be pretty happy with it.

Hi Frank, I can say that I have probably only use this software for maybe one or two hours at the Max and I have been pretty happy with how quickly is picking up on my language.  I would highly recommend it as I cannot believe how fast I am posting blogs and responding to people's posts. Of course sometimes he thinks blogs is boxes but it is a small price to pay, LOL. f

Yea, Dragon has misinterpretations from time to time. But I've been using it on my PC for about a year now, and I love it too! I used to spend way too long responding to e-mails and blogs, etc., and when I got Dragon Naturally Speaking I was flying through my e-mails in less than 10 minutes! Producing documents is so easy and RELAXING! I can sit back and just talk with my computer, not having to hunch over and type on the keyboard for hours at a time. Recently, I have found a great White Paper specifically on getting the best out of Dragon. http://learn-dragon-naturallyspeaking.com. I am learning things I never would have known about the software. I am now basically controlling my computer using only my voice! That's the reason I bought Dragon Naturally Speaking!
