Faria Preserve is going to be a fabulous new community in San Ramon developed over the next couple of years by Lafferty Communities.

This plan has been in the works since 2006 and finally just received the go-ahead for 740 homes located near I-680, north of Crow Canyon Road and east of Bollinger Canyon Road. This new development, Faria Preserve is the largest project since the City Center.

This 450-acre development features 288 acres of residential development once owned by Claremont Homes.Rolling hills of Faria Preserve

Once permits went through, petitions and suits were filed; we finally have the go-ahead to start building. 206 acres will be used for recreational usage and protected and the developer says that an additional 144 acres of open space will be available next to the site to the East Bay Regional Park District. 80% of the property is dedicated to open space says City Yee, the city’s associate planner. Lafferty Communities still has to secure regulatory permits from the Regional Water Quality Control Board, the state’s Fish and Wildlife Dept. and the US Army Corps of Engineers and several years of grading and site development will be needed but it looks like things are finally moving forward.

What we know about the development:

  • There will be several neighborhoods developed in phases with a collection of single family houses, townhouses, apartments, senior housing and plots for a church and sports park.
  • There will be a main club area with Pool, Pool building, parking and lawn volleyball. This will include sun chairs, decks and cabanas.
  • There will be water features, trails, paths and speed bumps throughout the community.
  • The entrance will be on Deerwood Road and Bollinger Canyon Road with several playgrounds throughout and neighborhoods off-shooting from the main thoroughfare.

Because we are still at the beginning stages of this plan prices are not yet known but if you would like to stay informed on the plans and progress of the Faria Preserve give me a call or shoot me an email and I would be happy to keep you in the “know”.
