While walking through one of my favorite neighborhoods in Highland Village this morning I paused to take notice of these beautiful lions. Then I was reminded of a song The Lion Sleeps Tonight, by the Tokens and one of my favorite quotes from the movie "The Lion King."
“You must take your place in the Circle of Life.”
You were put on the earth for a reason. You have a role to play in the world. Don’t get lazy and give up on things. There are people that need you in their lives, lessons you must learn and mistakes you must make. Take your place in the natural flow of things."
Sometimes even I forget that I was put here on earth for a reason. Is it human nature to take things for granted? See the lions at the foot of the stairs? They were made by man to rest. That reminds me, I was not created by man but by a Higher Being; therefore, I do have a purpose. There's a time to rest and a time to be productive fulfilling one's purpose. People talk about life balance. Life is a balancing act. When my children were little we read Dr. Seuss books often. Along life's journey Dr. Seuss taught lessons to people of all ages, not just children.
"You'll be mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life is a Great Balancing Act, and will you succeed? Yes! You will indeed!"
The neighborhood was so quiet this morning. I passed by a few houses I sold a few months ago. Their curb appeal looked so green and the flowers were in bloom. It didn't look that way in the dormant season of winter. Spring came and went so fast and the neighbors lawns are in full bloom. Many of these neighbors will be on a journey, stepping stones to different places in their life. I hope to serve a purpose and help Sellers move and Buyers buy. Life is good. One can't move forward if all they do is rest.
