While criticism if constructive is helpful to steering people by their own choice to be their best selves it focuses on weaknesses. We all have weaknesses and probably should reserve that more to improving OURSELVES.
COMPLIMENTS on the very positive side however if genuine and sincere and not flattery
MAGNIFY THE STRENGTHS of the other. Good job, you look good in that outfit, you have such pretty eyes, I love that personality trait you have and wish more people were like that....... etc.
ALL GO TO REINFORCING what you like about someone.
It builds a strong bond with them and THEY WILL REMEMBER YOUR KINDNESS.
GIVE COMPLIMENTS EVERY CHANCE YOU GET!!!
