What's In My Dream Home?
Donna Foesrster knows what she wants in her dream home, she wants more storage. She wants all kinds of storage from cabinets to closets to a walk-in pantry. Many homes today do not have enough storage. That makes homeowners result to renting storage units and packing the attics full of stuff.
What's In My Dream Home?
My oh my! I could come up with a LONG list if I really tried. We love our current home, but there are quite a few things I wish we had, such as...
⇒Larger coat closet
⇒Closet for the vacuum cleaner, brooms, mops
⇒Much larger laundry room that could accommodate a place to hang clothes
⇒Walk-in kitchen pantry
⇒Larger bathrooms, including the master
⇒Larger showers
⇒Larger bedroom closets, including the master
⇒Larger bedrooms and home officeAs you can see, I have a theme. I want more STORAGE and SPACE!! We just don't have enough room for our stuff. I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels like this. Sure, we have a big basement and I can put some of our stuff down there, but who wants to go down there to get it?
Looking at my list above and thinking about what would be most important to me, I would say it's a toss-up between a larger master bedroom closet and a walk-in kitchen pantry. If really pressed, the walk-in pantry would win.
My challenge is not so much the food, although we do have a fair amount of dry goods for just 2 people, it's more about the many kitchen "appliances" that we have. Our cabinets can't hold all of the food, dishes, glassware, pots, pans, containers and appliances! Where does one put the electric griddle when not in use? What about the ice cream maker or the deep fryer? I suppose I could put them in the makeshift "pantry" in the basement, but again, who wants to go to the basement?
So to answer the question asked in the Beazer Homes and ActiveRain Challenge: What's In Your New Dream Home? the answer is a walk-in kitchen pantry! When can you come to install it? (BTW, the pantry in the above photo is NOT what I have in mind!)
