Vancouver's Fourth of July celebration at the Fort is a Big Deal!
USA Today recently listed the ten best fireworks shows in US, and no surprise to those of us who live in Clark County, our local show at the Fort made the list. The Fort Vancouver Fireworks show is mentioned as part of the celebration in Portland, Oregon ( also no surprise to those of us who live here). Portland (aka Portlandia) seems to attract attention.
I digress, back to the Fireworks at the Fort! The Independence Day celebration in Vancouver is a day-long event with fun games, entertainment, food and an adult beverage pavilion. Prime Viewing ticket holders are also treated to a tasty 4th of July picnic dinner, an exclusive entertainment venue, and front row seats to the fireworks display. Tickets sell for between $5 and $50. ( Children under 12 admitted for free)
Fort of Vancouver - Historic and Long-time history for the Fourth.
Families have been enjoying Fourth of July celebrations at the Fort for more than 50 years. Using state of the art fireworks synchronized to patriotic music, the 2014 display promises to be an amazing show for viewers. Once again, the fireworks will be launched from Pearson Airfield.
Gates open at 8AM on Friday morning. The entertainment begins at noon, and the fireworks will be launched at 10:05PM. Sorry, no pets are allowed except for service animals. And, the only alcohol permitted is sold in the adult beverage section to those over 21 years of age.
The Fort Vancouver Fireworks Show has earned its reputation as one of the best in the country. The Fort's National historic site is located east of downtown Vancouver with entry gates at Evergreen Blvd and Fort Vancouver Way, Mill Plain and Fort Vancouver Way, East Reserve and Evergreen Blvd, and East Reserve and East 5th Street.
Regardless of where you celebrate, have a Happy and Safe Fourth of July!
