When You Have Nothing Else to Do All Day But Compare Resorts in Maui

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

When we go down to the beach at The Fairmont in Maui, we need to sign out an umbrella. I am not certain where they think we might run off to carting a really heavy beach umbrella, but they have cabana boys who will set up the umbrellas for you and weight them in place with sandbags, after attaching your name to the umbrella. I really don't want people reading my name on an umbrella. They do things differently at Four Seasons.

The last time I stayed Four Seasons was on the Big Island. There, the beach umbrellas were already in place but if you wanted to rest under an umbrella, you needed to pay extra for that privilege, something like $50 a day. Who wants to be nickel and dimed on vacation? You can read more about The Four Seasons vs The Fairmont in Maui in my personal blog today.

Elizabeth, It sounds like there are some pros and cons to both umbrella situations! Being on a beach under an umbrella in Maui sounds fantastic though!

No one expects perfection all the time...well..except my mother who is a pain in the butt at restaurants.  It is almost embarassing to dine out with her.  She'll complain and then refuse to let the restaurant make it right.

As for that martini concoction with the toasted coconut on the rim, it looks out of this world.

I think being on the beach in Maui would leave me pretty carefree about anything else.  Heck, save the umbrella, I'd be happy just roasting in the sunshine.

It all depends on where you are vacationing at.  Here is the boot hills of the Ozarks is one thing near the ocean is another different story.  Hawaii is still another story it is all just relevant but in the end the choice is yours to make

Hi Elizabeth.  Umbrellas - shumbrellas.  Forgetting to bring the drinks is unforgivable.  They would been rated a 1 on my scale.

Elizabeth, I have to agree that the most important part of a foul up is the way it's resolved by the staff and management.

There are special words that I love to hear while on vacation - "All inclusive."

I do not like "all inclusive" because usually the choices are crap.
