Whatever your plans are this weekend, be careful! Here in Utah, we have enjoyed 3 days of breezy days. This make the temperature more comfortable to deal with, but it also dries things out very quickly. We have a lot of really dry vegetation, so fireworks are really going to require a lot of vigilance!
I would add that if you are doing fireworks in your neighborhood, it is great to celebrate, but remember there may be some of your neighbors who have to work in the morning, so late night fireworks are not very neighborly!
One other thing to remember, the local news had a story outlining that the park rangers on the lake are going to be focusing on boaters who are drinking and boating. They have pointed out that driving a boat while intoxicated carries the same penalties as driving a car while intoxicated. And to be honest, it should! So make sure if alcohol is part of your boating trip, find a designated driver!
Be careful on the roads as well, like Halloween, there will be small children out lighting and watching fireworks. Being children, they may run into the street with no warning, so be careful! Here there will be a lot of travel, so plan ahead, and give yourself extra time. Arriving later than expected is much better than not arriving at all!
Have a great and safe Holiday!
