4th of July in Catonsville is a party around town so get your chairs out now!
It's a long standing tradition - for a week now our downtown sidewalk and grassy areas have been filled with chairs and blankets to save the best parade viewing spots!
Thousands of locals and lots of friends and family will line Frederick Road for the 68th Annual Catonsville 4th of July Parade.
Literally every person watching will be wearing some combination of red, white and blue - it's really a sight to see and an all day party for lots of folks since so many are within walking distance!
The parade is always a blast - this year it features 12 marching bands including the Ravens band. It is held rain or shine but the weather at this time is usually just really hot and humid so bring lots of water!
And bring some money to give to the guys walking around with buckets - the 4th of July events are funded by donations and the hard work of volunteers!!
There is still time to join in the festivities, here is the schedule of events for Friday, July 4th:
8:30 am 3'd Annual Bike Ride to Fort McHenry - Atwater's Baker - 815 Frederick Road (www.catonsvillerailstotrails.org)
9:30 am Children's Games and Races - Catonsville High School (CHS) corner of Rolling and Valley Road
11:00 am American Music Concert Christian Temple
3:00 pm 68th Annual Grande Parade - Frederick Road - starts at Montrose and ends on Bloomsbury Ave by the community center.
6:30 pm Fireworks Family Fun Festival - CHS (Music, food, family, fun!)
9:15 pm Mammoth Fireworks Display - CHS (raindate is Saturday, July 5th, 2014)
